Happy Friday friends! Today is a special day-our Freaky Friday Fall Edition Recipe Swap and I am so excited to share this recipe with you! A bunch of my fabulously talented blogger friends and I get assigned a blog to choose a recipe from then create and share with our readers. We don’t find out who we’ve been assigned until today! I was thrilled to find out I had been assigned Rebecca’s blog Devour Dinner.
Michaela from An Affair From The Heart is so amazing for organizing this whole event and I am so appreciative to be a part of it. When she told me I was assigned Rebecca of Devour Dinner I couldn’t wait to hop on her site to search for the recipe I’d recreate and share. Her blog is chock full of family friendly, flavorful and simple recipes that I know you’ll just love.
As always, it was so tricky picking just one recipe to recreate for this recipe swap but I knew when I saw these Turkey & Cranberry Sliders that this was the one! Not only is it super simple to throw together but a perfect one to share as Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I don’t know about you but I am always looking for ideas of how to use my leftovers and this one is a winner. I am definitely looking forward to trying some of her other recipes, like her Dorito Taco Salad, Apple Pecan French Toast and her Chicken Fajita Sliders {yes, yes I do love a slider!}.
I love how a very simple transformation of ingredients creates a new and equally yummy food experience. I feel like these Turkey & Cranberry Sliders are the ultimate Thanksgiving leftover recipe for football watching over the weekend. Sliders are such a fun meal and the perfect size for a get together with friends and family.
These couldn’t be easier. They start with Hawaiian rolls which are so good with their slight sweetness and pillowy texture. Layered on with that sweet and tart cranberry sauce, sliced turkey and a good sharp provolone cheese. The combination is so great. For an extra layer of goodness Rebecca brushes the rolls with butter, garlic powder and poppy seeds.
My family absolutely LOVED these Turkey & Cranberry Sliders. I had some turkey gravy that I served along side of the sliders for dunking because, hey why not right?! Don’t want to wait to give this a try? While it clearly is a great Thanksgiving leftover recipe it can be made all year long! Grocery stores really are so great and you can grab a roasted turkey breast already cooked for you. Grab some rolls, cheese and cranberry sauce and you are set! I found a whole berry canned cranberry sauce at my store and it was really quite tasty!
- 3 cups cooked turkey
- 1 pkg 12 count Hawaiian Rolls
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
- 6 slices provolone or swiss cheese
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp poppy seeds
- leftover gravy for dipping {optional}
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Carefully open your Hawaiian rolls horizontally so that they can have a top and a bottom for your sandwich sliders.
- Place the bottom halves on the baking sheet and spread the cranberry sauce over the top.
- Layer on the turkey.
- Place your cheese of choice over the top of the turkey and add the top of the slider bread.
- In a small separate bowl, melt your butter and add the garlic powder and poppy seeds, stirring to combine.
- Brush the top of the bread rolls with the butter mixture and then bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

These are so fun! I love using leftovers in a different way and these are perfect for serving on Friday or Saturday while everyone is watching all the football!
Heather @ Sugar Dish Me
I roasted a whole lot of turkey earlier this year when nothing else could be found at the grocery store because ‘rona, and I WISH I’d had these cute little sammies! They look terrific!
Michele
I love sliders… but never in my wildest dreams did I think to ad cranberries to one…. the perfect amount of sweetness! It sounds amazing!
Angela LeMoine
Yes!! The cranberries are so perfect!! Pairs so well with that delicious turkey and slightly sweet roll and the mild sharpness of the provolone.
Michaela Kenkel
Repurposing Thanksgiving turkey/letovers is almost as delicious as the original meal! I am digging these sliders – I am making them for our big football game the Friday after Thanksgiving! YUM!
Angela LeMoine
I completely agree!! After the stresses that come with hosting a holiday the day after is so relaxed where you can really enjoy everything that much more.
Sandra Shaffer
Love the leftovers more than the actual turkey dinner! These look fantastic. Love the addition of cranberry sauce. So flavorful!
Angela LeMoine
Its funny, I feel like the day after is always a little better- maybe its just that the stress of everything being perfect is relaxed and you can take your time to enjoy it all
Debi
I love the idea of these. I’ll need to make sure to grab some slider buns from the store before the holidays this year.
Angela LeMoine
Oh yes, you’ll def enjoy them!! Fun to have for any football going on over the weekend too!
Rebecca
This is one of my family favorites around the holidays, and it’s so easy too! I always grab extra Hawaiian Rolls and keep in my freezer so I have them. And it’s so quick to throw together. 😉
Angela LeMoine
Quick and easy is the best for after a busy holiday isn’t it?!
Nicole Johnson
I can’t believe I have never tried these! Going to be fixing that in late November.

Sliders make everything so fun!

Is there any better Fall pairing than turkey and cranberry? What a great slider idea! I am SOOO saving this recipe for Thanksgiving leftovers!!!!

Erin
Oh, these sliders look utterly perfect! I love the combination of flavors, too. I have a feeling we’ll be making a lot of these with our Thanksgiving leftovers this year…
Angela LeMoine
They sure are! Turning them into a slider in an easy and fun way to enjoy all the goodness that Thanksgiving has to bring.
Amy Nash
Turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce are the BEST. And even better as sliders! These are AMAZING! I’m so making these for my husband this year since this is basically his favorite sandwich in slider form.
Angela LeMoine
It really is a great flavor combo and great way to enjoy leftovers.
