This girl right here LOVES a family movie night! While I enjoy going to the theater there is nothing quite like getting cozy in your pjs, getting together with the family and popping in a great family movie at home! Have you all seen Hotel Transylvania 2 yet? Me and the boys had seen it in the theater and couldn’t wait for it to come out on DVD. Now, you certainly cannot have a family movie night without a FANTASTIC snack am I right?!?! How fun and tasty does this Chocolate Covered Popcorn Snack Mix that I there together look? YUM!

As soon as Hotel Transylvania 2 came out we ran over to Walmart to grab the movie, {lets just say my hubby was a bit bummed that he didn’t get to come see it in the theater with us} as well as some supplies for our movie night. I picked up a 6 pack of Coca-Cola, some of those super fun sized M&M’S® Chocolate Candies and Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater Popcorn. This movie is absolutely hysterical… as in its got humor for both the kiddos and adults and just perfect for the whole family.

Who else is a fan of the whole sweet and salty combo? The salty, buttery popcorn goes absolutely perfect with the sweet and crunchy M&M’S® Chocolate Candies. That alone is great but then I took melted semi sweet chocolate and white chocolate and drizzled that all over the mix. A cold Coca-Cola to wash it all down and your movie night is going to be a blast! Oh and a little bonus is that you can make this a bit ahead of time and have it ready to go when the family arrives.

Chocolate Covered Popcorn Snack Mix

Ingredients
  • 2 bags Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater Popcorn
  • 2- 3.5 oz container M&M’S® Chocolate Candies- 1 milk chocolate & 1 peanut
  • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Pop the two bags of popcorn {separately} according to the package directions. Spread the popped popcorn out onto a lined baking sheet.
  2. Spread the M&M’S® Chocolate Candies all over the popcorn.
  3. Melt each chocolate separately by placing the chips in a glass bowl and melt at 20 second increments in the microwave. Once melted carefully drizzle all over the popcorn & candy mix.
  4. Toss gently to coat then place in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to harden the melted chocolate. Once hardened go ahead and add it back into those fun pop up popcorn bowls.
