Asparagus & Cheese Tart

April 4, 2014 by Angela LeMoine 19 Comments

asparagus and cheese tart

Good morning on this gloomy, rainy day in NJ! We’ve got a busy weekend ahead of us with massive packing/storing planned! While I don’t think that there is anyone that would say they enjoy lugging around heavy furniture BUT I at least feed our family helpers very well! I’m an odd ball and rather then ordering a giant sub, I make things like this Asparagus & Cheese Tart! Its so simple to make with just 3 ingredients, it looks pretty and is quite yummy! I feel silly sometimes even posting these types of “recipes” because they are so simple but then I remember that on days when my brain is too tired to think, that I look for easy so why not share!

It is Spring and that means asparagus is available in abundance everywhere!!! I’ve been taking advantage and using it very often so why not on moving day too! Crescent dough, 4 cheese blend (mozzarella, provolone, pecorino & parm) and beautiful asparagus spears… thats it! Seasoned with just a little salt and pepper, popped into the oven and baked until golden. If you aren’t a huge fan of asparagus another great variety you could try is zucchini and tomato slices! Whether an addition to a brunch spread, appetizer or side dish; this Asparagus & Cheese Tart will be an absolute hit!

Asparagus & Cheese Tart
Ingredients
  • 1 tube crescent dough, seamless roll
  • 1 cup shredded 4 cheese blend
  • 1 bunch asparagus
Instructions
  1. Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
  3. Top with the shredded cheese.
  4. Lay the asparagus in a single layer across the dough {you may have extra depending on the size of your bunch of asparagus}. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
