Cinnamon Raisin & Apple French Toast Bake

Is your mouth watering yet? I mean c’mon how amazing does this Cinnamon Raisin & Apple French Toast Bake look?!?!? Layers of cinnamon raisin bread, egg custard and lightly sautéed cinnamon apples! Whats not to love about that? I absolutely love the creamy texture of the egg base along with the sweet al dente apples and the crunch of the perfectly golden top layer! This right here is absolutely perfect for a weekend breakfast or brunch!

I don’t post much on breakfast only for the reason that i’m rather boring during the week with my own breakfasts. I do however love to make a special something for the weekends. This one, unfortunately, I didn’t make for myself {but don’t worry I absolutely had a piece, for quality assurance heehee}. My mom asked that I make some sort of french toast bake for her to bring to a work party. I really love the combination of cinnamon, raisins and apples so decided to make those the key ingredients.

A loaf of cinnamon raisin bread from Panera was the perfect fit for this bake! The apples are just lightly sautéed with butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract and brown sugar. I cook the apples only until slightly softened because they will continue to cook in the oven and I like them to not turn to mush. The egg base is easy; sweetened condensed milk, eggs, milk and vanilla. This whole dish comes together quickly and easily. Its baked for about 45-55 minutes until the egg base is cooked through and the bread is golden on top.

Something tells me, if I make this I will always have it in my fridge. I love anything with a flaky crust & apples. Yumo! Well done.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who loves french toast with fruit. Even just making a few sliced in a pan, I prefer fruit or jam on it rather than maple syrup.
This looks delicious, especially with the addition of raisins. Thanks for sharing!
