Easter Bunny Cereal Treats

March 31, 2015 by Angela LeMoine Leave a Comment

Easter Bunny Cereal Treats | LeMoine Family Kitchen. Perfect easy Easter dessert! Adorable and delicious sweet treat!

I love holidays, any reason to get together with family and friends with lots of yummy food right?! Easter is such a fun one since having kids. They get so excited for the egg hunts and baskets. Me, I love dessert and I wanted to make an easy, adorable and delicious one that would be loved by my kids and the adults alike. These Easter Bunny Cereal Treats are definitely a winner! Little multi grain cheerio marshmallow treats topped with white chocolate, a Peeps bunny and some festive Easter egg chocolate candies. They are so good!!

I think cereal treats are a childhood favorite for so many. One bite and immediately I am brought back to chatting away with friends in the cafeteria. They are nostalgic which makes them a perfect treat! Cereal stirred with melted butter and marshmallow then popped into a cupcake pan to form the base. Some melted white chocolate wafters to act as the glue for the Peeps and chocolate candies, and heck it tastes even more delicious with that added layer.

Author: Angela LeMoine
Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 20 large marshmallows
  • 3 cups cheerios
  • white chocolate melting wafers {I used Ghirardelli}
  • Peep bunnies
  • M&M Easter egg chocolates
Instructions
  1. Add the butter and marshmallows to a medium saucepan, over low heat. Stir until melted.
  2. Remove from the heat and stir in the cereal until combined and good and sticky.
  3. Spray a cupcake tin with non stick spray. Spoon in the cereal mixture evenly into each spot {enough for 12}. Damped your fingers with water and gently press the centers down a bit to form a spot where the bunny can sit.
  4. Pop in the fridge to set for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Add about a cup of the white chocolate melting wafers to a bowl and microwave at 30 second increments just until melted. Stirring between each 30 seconds.
  6. Remove the cereal treats from the cupcake tin. Dip the tops into the melted chocolate and place a bunny and a few chocolates onto each.
  7. Pop back into the fridge on a baking sheet for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden and the bunny and chocolates are all set in place.
