Fall is such a beautiful time of year. The crisp chill in the air, the gorgeous colors on the trees and the flavors of the season. This Baked Brie with Orange Marmalade, Walnuts & Cranberries is a wonderfully delicious Fall inspired appetizer that happens to pair perfectly with Rosé Wines of Provence.
I really enjoy wine and food pairings for entertaining friends and family. I happen to LOVE enjoying Rosé wine all year long and Wines of Provence are the leaders in Rosé for good reason. Being that we were enjoying wine from the Provence region of France I wanted to keep my menu with France in mind. I came up with this delicious Baked Brie with Orange Marmalade, Walnuts & Cranberries.
Shall we chat a moment about the wine? Over the last few years I have come to appreciate wine more and more. The process that goes into, the grapes, the unique flavors and quality. Provence dedicates 89% of its production to Rosé {7% red wines & 4% to white wines} and is known for its unique attributes. Provence Rosé is pale in color but big in flavor. Provence is home to an unequalled diversity of luscious and versatile rosés: light and fresh for spring and summer, spicier and darker for fall and winter.
My Baked Brie with Orange Marmalade, Walnuts & Cranberries turned out to be just wonderful with the Rosé. Brie is probably one of the most well known French cheeses and for good reason, it is SO SO good! This recipe really couldn’t be easier either. I bake the brie just until warm and softened. Topped with orange marmalade {very French too}, candied walnuts and dried cranberries. I also served a lovely mix of olives because there is just something perfect about wine and olives.
Some other ideas of what to pair your Rosé Wines of Provence with… In the Summer some grilled fish and seasonal vegetables, Winter is great to serve at the holidays, Spring with a beautiful asparagus risotto. Its so versatile which is what I really love about it. I think the baked brie just has a Fall season feel to it. The creamy brie with the sweet marmalade, a little chewy bite from the dried cranberries and that crunch of the walnuts. I served it with some sliced baguette.
- 1 – 8 oz brie round
- 1/4- 1/2 cup orange marmalade
- a handful of candied walnuts
- a palmful of dried cranberries
- sliced baguette
- Preheat your over to 375 degrees.
- Place the brie in a brie baker or in any oven safe baking dish. Bake for about 15 minutes.
- Carefully transfer onto a plate. Top with the marmalade, walnuts and cranberries.
- Serve with sliced baguette.
