Spinach Artichoke Puff Pastry Cups

October 15, 2015 by Angela LeMoine 69 Comments

Spinach Artichoke Puff Pastry Cups | LeMoine Family Kitchen . These puff pastry cups are so easy to make and such great flavor! Perfect party food appetizer!

I love these Spinach Artichoke Puff Pastry Cups! These delicious cups make for perfect party food; whether for a brunch, a holiday or just a get together with some friends. Puff pastry is such a great product; its light, buttery, flaky and you can make so many different dishes with it. For this I went with one of my ultimate flavor combo favorites… spinach & artichoke! I’ve made a Spinach & Artichoke Quiche, Baked Spinach & Artichoke Pasta and a Savory Sausage, Spinach & Artichoke Bread Pudding.

The filling for these Spinach Artichoke Puff Pastry Cups is simple… baby spinach, marinated artichoke hearts, cream cheese, shredded cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt & pepper. These come together in no time which is definitely a bonus when preparing for a get together. I will say, these aren’t just for an appetizer; I served these for breakfast with a nice runny egg served on top. See, these things are versatile and definitely now on my go to list for quick & easy party eats!

  • 6 oz baby spinach, finely chopped
  • 1 heaping cup chopped artichoke hearts
  • 4 oz cream cheese, slightly softened
  • 8 oz 4 blend Italian shredded cheese

  2. In a bowl mix together the cream cheese and eggs until incorporated.

  4. Lay out each sheet of puff pastry. Cut each sheet into 9 equal squares. Place the puff pastry into a muffin tin sprayed with non stick spray. {You can stretch the dough out a bit if you need to.. no worries about them being perfect}
  5. Distribute the filling evenly into each of the puff pastry cups. Bake for approx. 30-35 minutes until the dough is golden and the filling cooked through.

      Surely! Simply cut the puff pastry dough into smaller squares. Press the dough down into the pan well so that you have enough room for some filling. Enjoy!

      Hi! I’ve not actually tried freezing with these. If I were to try I’d try making them completely as in the recipe, allowing them to completely cool then wrapping a few together in plastic wrap then into a freezer bag.

      Hi! I think you’d be ok without the egg. You many to try adding just a splash of milk or water to help loosen the mixture just a bit.

      I’d say best if they are hot/warm but still good room temp. You definitely don’t want to serve them cold though.

    I make a variation of this using mini muffin tins. I also use the 5×5 puff pastry vsquares which I roll out to about 6×6 then cut into quarters. I also use fresh garlic and about a 1.5 inch pieces of ginger, both finely minced. I also use several squirts of srircha to add a slight kick. These do freeze well and I often eat them cold but they are far better warm
